JUST SOME MORE PREFAB BUILDINGS THAT I SPOT EVERY FRIDAY ON 'INHABITAT'. IT HAS A 'PREFAB FRIDAY' SECTION SHOWING NEW DESIGNS GOING ON AROUND THE WORLD, AND PROVES THAT PREFABRICATION IS THE NEW BLACK.

RARE ARCHITECTURE ASSIGNMENT.
THE CLASSROOM IS VERY FOCUSED ON BEING MODULAR AND PORATABLE, THERE ARE FIVE SECTIONS WHICH PIECE TOGETHER TO FORM THE WHOLE STRUCTURE. EVEN MORE FOCUS IS PLACED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT FEATURES WE INCORPORATED INCLUDING; AUTOMATED LOUVERS IN THE ROOF SPACE TO ALLOW CROSS VENTILATION TO REMOVE HEAT FROM THE CEILING, OR TRAP THE HEAT TO ALLOW IT TO FILTER THROUGH INTO THE CLASS ROOM. THE SAME PRINCIPLE IS APPLIED TO THE WINDOW WHICH ALSO INCORPORATE LOUVERS TO PROVIDE COOLING AND A CONSTANT AIR EXCHANGE.
ANOTHER FEATURE IS A LOOP CREATED THROUGH HYDRONIC HEATING AND COOLING. WATER IS COLLECTED INTO TANK PLACED IN THE MIDDLE PORTION WHICH THEN HAVE THE WATER PUMPED TO THE ROOF, HEATED, AND THEN PUMPED THROUGH THE FLOORING TO ALLOW RADIENT HEATING. IN COOLING PHASE THE PROCESS BYPASSES THE ROOF AND IS COOLED THE THEN PUMPED THROUGH THE FLOOR.

THE COLLAPABLE CONSTRUCTION
Our teams aim was to create something that was big, and end up small.
Investigating various methods we decided to adopt the folding wall system in which all walls would fold inwards and evenually place themselves in a way that could accomodate the walls neatly into the floor area as the roof and floor.
As the photos show, the idea starts small and ends up being a very presentable space.
